This weekend finds me at the Therapeutics Landscap

This weekend finds me at the Therapeutics Landscapes conference at the School of Arts, University of Worcester. Great to find ‘outsider’ subjects like folklore, witchcraft, pilgrimage and ritual being studied seriously. I have also boosted my vocabulary: ‘hoodening’, ‘dusking’, ‘god dollies’, ‘brackish rites’ will now pepper my conversation. Also, great bags and badges.

I'm excited to reveal (part of) the cover of my next published project, The Witch's Shadow Work Oracle. Illustrated by the brilliant @tijanadraws it’s a deck of 40 cards that brings together Jungian psychology, witchcraft, timeless archetypes, fairytales, mythic landscapes, earth energies and folklore to gently guide you to discover the magic and power of your shadow self.

I wrote the accompanying booklet, which brims with all of the above.

Published in September by @watkinswisdom but well worth the wait!

Eek, after a year off I’m opening my garden/smal

Eek, after a year off I’m opening my garden/smallholding again for @ngsherefordshire in June. Plenty to do before then but new attractions so far include a spiral earth form, borders planted to correspond with the elements, hugel mounds and a flock of friendly sheep. All this plus the usual veg garden, hens and heritage orchard. Oh and plenty of cake. You are very much invited.

Breakfast time for the animals on a frosty morning. This new bunch of Ryeland sheep are a bossy bunch. Not like the old Herdwicks who were much more reserved and cautious. Who knew sheep breeds were so different? Not me for sure.

Three new sheep have arrived! Fittingly, they come

Three new sheep have arrived! Fittingly, they come at Imbolc with all its promise of Spring. They are a local breed, Ryeland, that goes back centuries and is good for a smallholding apparently. They were destined for the market but their breeders, Steve and Doreen, brought them here instead when I asked if they had any spare. All three are good on a halter though the chances of me putting one on is slim at the moment tbh. Anyway, lovely to have them.
